It’s showtime! On Saturday, 4th September the Festival inviting villagers of all ages to show off their prized pot plants, flowers and vegetables.
This year the Festival will be welcoming the Annual Guild Show for Barton under Needwood Gardening Guild as part of the weekend’s events.
As well as the usual show classes for members the Guild is inviting everyone to ‘Have a Go’ and join in. And there’s a special section for children with a challenge to create a miniature garden and an animal made from fruit and/or vegetables.
Here are the details:

A. Any pot plant
B. A vase of cut garden flowers
C. Three carnations or pinks
D. Three gladioli
E. Three Potatoes
F. Three Courgettes
G. One truss of tomatoes
H. One Squash
J. The longest runner bean
K. Three different culinary herbs tied in a bunch
Special Children’s Section
To be judged in two age groups:
1. - up to seven years, and
2. - eight to eleven years
A. A miniature garden in a seed tray (approximate measurement 24x36 cm)
B. An animal made from vegetables and/or fruit.
C. A collection of garden flowers arranged in a cup or mug.
All entries to be delivered and set up by 2.00pm.
